can this be done? are the pcm part numbers even different? whats to stop you from just flashing your 96 pcm with a 97 vin? what am i missing?

The part # for a 96' is 16207326 and for the 97' is 16227797.08' L76 6.0L 4X4 Chevy EXT.Cab LTZ Vortec MAX with Snug top cover, Dynomax exhaust,Hptuners& K&N intake

the 96 pcm only has 256kb where as 97-up have 512kb
