You guys ever notice that your A/F ratio might be off due to weather change? Mine is usually running rich once it warms up by .5 , basically ill have it set for winter with 12.5 A/F and once it warms up its at 12.0 or richer, so I just had to adjust my tune. When I lived in Phoenix I had to adjust it a bit but I could leave it if I wanted because the weather didn't change too much, but living in the high country you definitely need a winter and summer tune.

All the time - it is worse if you are tuned without a MAF. The changes become more drastic as the MAF isn't there to compensate. Usually I would have 3 tunes - one for spring, one for the dead heat of summer and one for fall. I would usually just take my good tune, run 2-3 logs and makes the adjustment with hp tuners. By the 2nd - 3rd change I was pretty bang on with the tune again.

I always thought the computer does the adjustment. Does HP tuner change the settings to be more permanent.

Computer only does so much, usually stock is way rich, need a wideband and Hptuners to dial it in.

Hp tuners recalibrates the settings. Then the computer adjusts from the new calibration. There is only so much accurate adjustment the computer can make though which is even less if you do not have a MAF on our cars.
