  • General Tuning?

I came across this today and I was wondering if some of these ideas would apply to our tuning too? Specifically the first post about disabling VE and just tuning MAF only. I mean, I've messed around with tuning my MAF obviously but I never heard anything about disabling the VE tables.

    Re: General Tuning?

No idea how I got to a G8 board, but they use HP tuners and from what I remember their tuning ideas made sense. I was just wondering how different our vehicles are and if these ideas could apply to ours. I've never heard of actually tuning anything with the narrowband sensors but tuning just cruise and anything at stoich with narrowbands kinda makes sense. It could explain a few things with my tune at idle..

I wouldn't trust my engine to narrowbands, I always tune to a wideband just for safety.

I'm not asking about WOT tuning. I'm talking about conditions that call for a stoich afr. A lot of people rate their cruising condition tuning on ltft, which are based from the narrowbands. So why not tune a 14.7 commanded condition on stft and ltft?

That's how to get your AFR at cruse perfect. Your wide band and narrow bands may not see stoich at the same point. The narrow bands win here because they are adjusting your AFR.

Exactly, this explains a lot with my tune.

Not all files will let you disable ve. Some of the Grand Prix were set to use the ve as a backup table and uses it as a base. Others ignor it completely. In tiny tuner you can change this setting.
