  • Long Tube Headers for Camaro V6

Hello everyone, on camaroz28.com me and a fellow member were argueing again lmperformance having long tube headers for our cars (V6). But unfortunately lmperformance is selling long tube pacesetter headers for camaro/firebird 3.8 98-02 cars. Here is the link to where you can find it

    http://www.lmperformance.com/c/7/13.html

Scroll down to the bottom untill you find Pacesetter Headers - Jet-Hot COATED 95-02 Camaro/Firebird 3.8L.

I confirmed with them and they said it is long-tube headers and that they have been around for awhile and they have been selling it for awhile. I know lots of V6 owners would love to get a hold of some long-tube headers. Check it out guys.

I'm sorry, they are not long-tubes even though LM says they are. If you go on Pacesetters' site, you will find nothing to the effect that they are long-tubes. Nobody makes longtubes for 3.8s, trust me I have looked. I have all the materials and I will be fabbing my own set of longtubes very soon.

Hey little G how are you going to make them long-tube? Do you think lmperformance.com modified it to long-tube just like how your going to do it? Because they gaurenteed that it was long tube.

No they didn't they would be charging a whole lot more if they did. LMPerformance doesn't make anything, they're a retailer. I am building my long tubes with a bunch of prebends and welding them together.

              Hey,
1)what size is your Y2K rims?
              2)what is the offset?
              3)what size is your tires?

just making a comparison with this girls car:
              http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/715757/2

as her car just doesn't look as right as yours with it

My car is just like hers, I've always wondered if Chevy "raised" the suspension for more travel when they updated the face for '98. If you look at her car it sits up noticeably higher.

                PACE701209C - LM's part number
                66-72C1209 - Texas Speed's part number

See the resemblance!? It's a shorty, not even a mid-length, deal with it.

Okay, thanks guys for the help. I called pacesetter and it turns out that they do not make long tube and short tubes. In their catalog the headers they make for our cars are mid-tubes. Where is a good place to buy headers?

ftpp.net actually dont have any in stock. only ones they have are 2 left which are jet-hot coated for $390.00. www.schochperformance.com actually might get it for me for $301. So I'm gonna try there.

ftpp actually don't have any in stock. They had 2 painted ones that would be sent out for jet-hot coated which would of cost me $390. If I wanted the $319 deal there next shipment is in 5 to 6 weeks and no way I'm going to wait longer then that. And I should be getting my headers in today or tomorrow woohoo
