got everything disconnected. that was easy. getting the damn star washer off of the U clamp is a different story.

on a 96 camaro... how the hell do you get the "plate" off of the master cylinder. the star washer is placed inbetween the firewall and the plate that i can't remove. does anybody know what im talking about? my digital camera is broken. on install university ...

    http://www.installuniversity.com/ins...r_cylinder.htm

step six, figure five. mine is nothing like that. that plate does not budge and i dont see where it can be detached..

    any ideas? thanks in advance

i did mine yesterday morning and i manages to kind turn it and i got it out but if you cant at all to remove the steering linkage remove the bolt completely and make sure you dont turn the steering wheel id take the key out so it locks otherwise you will break your clock spring

sweeet.. well you see... im incredibly strong and brute force usually breaks things.. but the master cylinder can take a hell of a beating if you're just gonna replace the whole thing anyways...

i ordered it from the dealer im pre sure it will be cheaper somewhere else
i needed it ASAP tho and yes it came with all that the autoparts stores dont they are only the master cylinder the only way to get the braided steel lne was to buy the entire assembly from GM and all i needed was the hose
