Note, this is a comparison thread for ONLY those who HAVE aftermarket converters... track times would be VERY useful here.. as SOTP is worthless with an aftermarket verter. THIS IS NOT A DEBATE OR QUESTION THREAD!!!! so lets keep it on topic!
This thread is about honesty and TRUTH... so forget BS'ing and keeping secrets.. Lets LEARN together here..
Lets collect a little info like:
Brand and size of converter:
Part #:
Stall Speed:
STR:
Effeciency:
And a little track info before and after. Lets not talk about SOTP gains either. A big converter is dependant on 60' at the track. If your spinning or aren't launching right then your results are not valid.
First, a quit bit of info on how you should launch your vertered car.
After a good burnout, stage the car. Left foot on brake, right foot on gas. Hold the RPM's around 1300. On the third yellow, at the same time INSTANTLY let go of the brake and MASH the gas as hard as possible. If you are spinning then you NEED MORE TIRE!!! If your on a street tire then you'll never get the full gains of the verter. If you MUST be on a street tire, try brake stalling it even higher to soften the launch.
If you run faster brake torquing it higher and slower brake torqing it lower.. I bet your spinnign when you brake torque it lower. You shouldn't be stalling yoru 3500 stall converter at 2500 from the line or as high as possible.. You need to FLASH it (Brake torque to 1300 and just NAIL it)...
