  • Dope style transmission cooler

Looking for any updates on how people have their transmission coolers setup. I just pulled mine off the condenser since it poked a hole in it. I also want to run an SSRA style intake tube and this would get in the way of that...

I have a 45k btu tranny cooler it’s on the condenser too with a 10” fan on it. Pretty much the only spot to put it.

Decided to move my trans cooler driver side behind the air damn. I was originally going to put a fan on it, but now I am wondering if I leave the plastic flap that would cover it off (in front of the air damn and behind, then it should still get plenty of air when driving as air would push up at the air damn and them flow across the top of the cooler no?

I am thinking that if I have to run a fan that I might just order this small 8" electric fan. It claims it moves 1700cfm. My thinking is to install it as a pull fan from the bottom as the cooler is tucked up high enough and I have plenty of room.

Since the front of the air damn is open (I removed that triangle plastic piece) air will push up into that little cubby, then the fan can pull it down through the trans cooler.

At least that is my thinking. Debating on waiting to see the coolant temps or just ordering the fan, but for $28 I don't know why I am on the fence...

Went for a 60 mile cruise today. 3/4 of it was stop and go city, the other 1/4 was highway.

City I saw the highest temp get up to 190*F on the aeroforce gauge. Highway she was down at about 160*f

The temperature outside was 50-60*F around here.

I think I am going to order a cheap fan that I posted for extra security, but I think my cooler is good mounted up where I have it. I am going to continue to monitor it as the weather gets warmer and maybe even see about directing the air a little better too.

The fact that it is getting cooler on the highway though lets me know it is getting air flow...
