  • Why I need a 3.42 Posi

So right now I have an open 3.42 and I cant launch for crap. Here is a video that shows what I do. Now I can lock it in first but then it gets even more sideways.... :/ I have 275/40/17's and this pisses me off!

Yeah but how hard is it to install?!?! I think a local shop is selling a 3.42 posi from an LS1 car for $300. Just dont know how hard that'll be to put in.

I don't think it was too bad. I guy we go drag racing with installed it for me. Take old one out, new one in. He didn't have to re-shim anything since he never messed with the pinion. Be careful get the reluctor ring off the open dif. If you break it you're basically screwed as GM doesn't make that anymore. The reluctor ring is for the ABS system

yes an LSD would be of good use for you but the real question is what upgrades are you running aside from the tires. a good suspension setup would help reduce the slip on launch on top of the LSD making them burn more evenly
