  • Mecham and other Firebird(or Firehawk) hatches/spoilers.

I really like the after market spoilers for the firebird. They make the end seem a lot more agressive and kind of fills it out a little. I think about getting an upgrade every now and then but I need some help.

I saw a firehawk that had an awesome spoiler. I read that some people call it "Ol Lumpy" or something like that. They are aparently really hard to find but it looks sooooooooo good. I would really like to know where to find one of these if possible, or see some other pictures than the few I saw.

The other one that really caught my attention was an "Iroc Spoiler" for the firebird. Not sure if its really called that but it was a higher raised spoiler with a long strip for a third break light. Almost like the front of the nightrider firebird but on the rear. I found one on ebay but its going up in price fast and theres still 3/4 days left. These are also rare as it also came on only certain years for the Firehawk and they are expensive.

I also really liked the Mecham add on wing for the normal Firebird hatch. After doing some research I saw better pictures and from certain angles I really don't like it after all.

The other Mecham spoiler for the Trans Am hatch also seemed really nice looking but I saw only 2 or 3 pictures of it and they werent very good quality or angles. If I would go with this it would require me to buy both the hatch and the spoiler so it would be even more money. But pictures would be appreciated.

The last spoiler I can think of off the top of my head was the wings west spoiler. It looks OK to me but maybe if it was molded somehow to the stock spoiler it would look better. Not my favorite but, its still better than stock.

Those are the spoilers I've been able to find but cant get much info on them or know where to buy them or see pictures or anything.

Out of all of those my favorite is the "Ol Lumpy". Im at work now and wont be able to get a link to the one I found but if someone wants I'll put it up on here when I get home.

So anyone with any information on these spoilers, or other spoilers go ahead and post pics or share your knowledge.

    Thanks a lot.

    -Jeff

That covers all the ones I know of. Just remember that for all those spoilers, you will need the Trans Am hatch to put them on. Except for the Wings West Firebird spoiler and the Mecham Formula style spoiler. Those will fit onto the low rise spoiler.

It's probably nearly impossible to find an Ol' Lumpy.. as most owners hold onto them because of how rare they are, and as far as I know there are no aftermarket reproductions of them.

Thanks Blindxeyed. You are really helping out on this one.

I came to the conclusion that I really like the Iroc style the best. The only problem is I dont know if my car is worth putting a new hatch and getting it painted and then needing the whole car repainted, plus dents and scratches fixed. Ill probably end up just waiting until I get a real firehawk.
