I just did something that you guys would shudder at, maybe not though. I used a mild polish compound on my paint. The little scratches, like by the keyhole just dissapeared and my hood looked like i lost all its clear coat, but after polishing it and waxing it a few times, I can hardly look at my car in the sun, GREAT SHINE! Very happy with the results. Its turtle wax white polishing compund. If your car is kinda old and the paint is faded or scratched lightly. do it. Just don't go through the clear coat!
