went to Lebanon Valley dragway today with Infernal. We had a good time, only got three runs in, all of which were better than last time i went, just wanted a little advice and wanted to see what you guys think.

    first run

    R/T - .686
    60' - 2.335
    330 - 7.060
    1/8 - 10.92
    MPH - 64.24
    1000 - 14.254
    1/4 - 17.082
    MPH - 78.29

    second run

    R/T - .362
    60' - 2.438
    330 - 7.193
    1/8 - 11.111
    MPH - 63.35
    1000 - 14.451
    1/4 - 17.318
    MPH - 78.72

and last but not least, the third run

    R/T - .589
    60' - 2.379
    330 - 7.071
    1/8 - 10.938
    MPH - 64.10
    1000 - 14.250
    1/4 - 17.078
    MPH - 79.83

i know i've got to work on my 60's. I bought some rims and drag radials from another board member. I know this track isn't street tire friendly...just ask infernal.

I hate to break this to you but with those mods you should be breaking into the 15's easy, I ran a 16.49@84.84 mph with SLP CAI and underdrive pullys it has stock tune, stock exhaust, stock ignition, stock open diff with 3.23, and 150,000 on the clock, also my 300lb fat-*** driving. I would have been into the 15's but I had a ****ty reaction time.

Notice the subject of the thread was "timeslip analysis," not "look how amazing i did." I posted looking for advice, I wasn't bragging about my times. It was also the second time I've ever been to the track. I'm not gonna sit here and try to make excuses. I know my times suck. I know what my car can do. Would you happen to have any useful tips to help me get into the 15's?

I'm guessing it was pretty hot and humid?

If you have the drag radials on...go ahead and launch that b*tch hard. What was the temp and humidity? That can make almost an entire second of difference in your times, like mine. I ran best of 16.55 in bad heat and humidity. In better weather...70's with little humidity...i ran my best of 15.85. How is your shifting? Are you decent?

i like to think my shifting is good. It was low 80's with like 50% humidity. I dont have the drag radials in my posession yet. I bought them on friday. Once i get them in i'll be heading to the track again. Hopefully by then i'll have my exhaust done too.

Yeah, you should be in the low 15's with those mods. My 1.9L Saturn runs 17.15 @ 79.3

You should be trapping close to 85 mph. 60' times are about right for a stock F-body but if you have 3.73 your 60' times should be 2.1's.
I hate to say it, but with that time, you may have something wrong with the engine.

Yup my thoughts exactly. If you look at the second half of the run, you are gaining only about 15MPH from the 1/8 mile to the 1/4 mile. I know you have a 3.4L V6 vs my 3.8L V6, but with your mods you should be at least as fast, or faster. I was gaining 20MPH (69 to 89) in the back half of the track with my car stock. My temp was a bit cooler, but there was more humidty.

Try to find someone with a scanner and knowledge of engines, and scan every aspect of the engine. Usual suspects to problems are misfires, engine knock, poor air fuel ratio (rich or lean) etc.

But yeah, there is a problem with the car there.

i love my 3.73's. the limited slip helps out a buttload too. I'll be at A.S.S. I've already requested the time off. As far as I know, i'll be rolling down with Infernal, and hopefully meeting up with a few other people.

thanks for all of your help gang...keep 'em comin. I'll look into a scanner. The problem is, i dont know anybody with one. we'll see what i can do

i noticed a slight hesistation at around 3.5k rpm yesterday. I replaced the plugs two weeks ago, as well as the fuel filter at the same time. I've also got msd ignition coils, so i'm thinking it's not them either. I'm going to take the plug wires (bosh from autozone with lifetime warranty) and trade them in for a new set, if that doesn't take care of it, i'm gonna take the ignition module out and have that tested. We'll see if that helps me out at all.

I'm willing to bet weather was really holding you back.

                          I have a 3.1L A3 Lumina (2.89 gears) and I run 17.4 @ 78.xx in decent weather (weight = 3500ish).

Crappy weather will kill your mph, which will in turn hurt your ET as well. Keep working on the launching and shifting, and when the weather improves, watch for low 16s, high 15s.
