  • Electric Water Pump/Installation

Recently just installed the Mezier electric water pump on my car. Installation was a breeze, total of 8 bolts, and a little scraping to get the old gasket off the engine.. Over-all, 30 min total no breaks.

I ordered it from intense-racing. Average company to buy from.. im not Dissing them in anyway, but i called for support 2 days ago, left a voice message AND email to their "tech support" and i still have not recieved a word in return. thats besides the point.

The wireing part wasn't so bad either. You're better off NOT ordering the plug and pray wireing harness from intense. For it did not work for me.
Best bet is to save that 65 bucks and buy a 5 dollar switch and some wire and make yourself a manual switch.

    Okay.. Perfomance gains and stuff..
Engine stays seriously at maybe a centimeter above 160 (who knows how accurate/unaccurate the factory guage is)

It requires a 4 inch shorter belt. Means less rotating resistance on the crank shaft. although not that much, still an improvement over what it was before. there is a slight improvement in power. its a lot smoother of an acceleration now though. thats a plus.

Uhhh.. Overall im not disappointed. once i return that 65 dollar harness it comes out to a grand total of... 340 bucks...

sorry im still undable to get the digital camera. Its my dads and he uses it for work.

          But just a little update.

I knew id see some sort of mpg improvement since im not longer spinning a water pump. well anyways before i was averaging 19mpg regular city driving, WOT not so often but a couple times..

now .. same driving, same conditions.. actually alittle more WOT runs and im getting 21mpg. with ac on constantly.. too ****'n hot in south florida

Wouldn't it be easier to use a relay than a manual switch? If I'm understanding you right you have to turn on the pump every time you get in the car.

                        im more intrested in performance.
like did you actually gain (free up) power? mpg?
it seems like the pulley-type-water-pump is draining the motor mechanically
the electric is draining the motor mechanically and electrically cause it has to convert the power.

yea which is why im getting a 160 amp alternator. It definately revs and accelerates smoother. i havent really been paying much attention to the gas mileage.

pictures soon! sorry its take'n so long
