This place is only 5 miles away from where I live. I have to admit that street racing is getting way out of hand in my area. The minute I start driving my bird I'm a target for street racers.

Last time I posted a Supra almost rearended my truck.

i hate to admit it but that looked like a nice civic.

never heard this happening... my friends always get their cars impounded for street racing but get it bailed out. :bs:

its either ticket or impound, never both.

Re: This is what happen when you street race in Calif.

I'm so lucky from the other night. O_O Me and a friend (Who also owns a 3.4 Camaro) decided to go out racing on a back road where NOBODY goes at night. We went down to the far end, made 2 runs and started to come back. We crossed the RR tracks and stopped. He was in the wrong lane with brights on. We were talking about it then decided to race down to the end of the road where it curves. As I'm slowing down, not far up ahead I see flashing blue and red lights. I slow down around the curve to a stop and a cop is sitting there. He never got out of his car, but said that he saw us go up and down that road about 3 times. Asked what we were doing, then said that "we'd better not race, like he just saw us do." He then told us to "Go on." I apologized and we went back to my friends house. We were so lucky. If it had been a cop from a different area, we'd have been f***ed. If I remember right, the penalties for street racing here is getting the car impounded, a huge fine, jail time, license suspended for up to 2 years, etc. The only reason we even did this in the first place was because it was a back road where nobody ever is. Or so we thought. >_<

Re: This is what happen when you street race in Calif.

yea...They crushed cars here in Ontario awhile back...while I agree with stopping street racing, I dont agree with this method...I mean here we have a law that going 50km/h over the limit is considered street racing (I posted a thread on this awhile back)...now if a cop just doesnt like you, or your car and just wants to be a prick what stops him from saying you were street racing...or in our case going 50 over which is considered street racing?...then bye bye car...

and for the first person that says...why would a cop do that...I've witnessed it already...happened with my buddy when I was in the car...lucky for us it happened before they passed this stiff penalty...all we were doing was coming home from the casino driving on the highway...pulled out to pass an 18 wheeler...cop pulls out tells us we were doing 150...we get a ticket yadayadayada... right before we passed the truck I looked at the speedo and we were doing 90 in stock honda...and he didnt floor it....Sad part was he got ****ed with the ticket...when really he shouldnt of got a ticket at all...now apply that to this situation...cop doesnt like your car, or maybe your attitude when your pulled over...how many people are going to loose their cars unjustly?

Good, it would suck to have your car taken away and crushed but some of these dumbasses on the road need to have their car crushed.

I remember there was something about this before. I hope these guys got a day in court before their car was crushed. The other guys got a ticket and a crushed car, no judge or anything, just a cop said they were street racing and boom.

I don't really think crushing a car is going to help any. I think it's just going to get people hurt when these street racers run from the cops so their car doesn't get crushed. I don't really see this as a deterrent to street racing, just from getting caught.

I agree to some extent. It would definitely give you more reasons to try to run.

Thats exactly what was said in the papers here...dont get me wrong, I have a lot of respect for police and the law...and I honestly think they have to do something about street racing, but this is not the way to do it...open more tracks, get more awareness out to the public...make street racing as socially unexceptable as drinking and driving...speaking of which...how is it possible to get your car crushed for street racing and not for DUI

and what the hell is QFMFT??

Also...if they just get their car crushed without a judge...I can see that making youth and a lot of other people hate cops soo much more then they do now...
