    its a newton ton, which is what threw me off.

    ive never seen/used that form to measure. convert that to kilos, and you are set.

      Yeah we use Newtons for everything in my Statics class, well Newtons for metric or kips for english.

        kips do you mean kPa (kilopascals)? For english we used lbs force, sounds retarded but I'm pretty sure kPa was force per area, such as psi. I just remember using it for Young's Modulus way back in the day when I wanted to be a mechanical engineer.

            Yeah its a kilopound, or 1000 pounds. So I guess it would be pounds that we use for English lol.
