Photoshop tutorials

So, does anyone have any good tutorials or good refrences for Photoshop CS? i have 8.0 and NO clue how to use it. I've followed a few youtube tutorials and i've made my teeth whiter and blurred out some acne from teenage photos but i want to learn how to, for instance, change my car's color, take a parked picture and make it look like I'm burning out, or (more pressingly) create t-shirt designs.

i really cant do much... i dont even understand layers or how to superimpose one picture onto another. I'm starting to get desperate here...
