How many meds do you take a day

I was just seeing what prescription meds people are taking a day and what for. I'm at 22 pills a day. I will post the names of the meds later on since I need a print out for them: But I currently take them for my hole in my heart(PFO), Stroke(Which I lost about 25% of my right side of my brain), Spasicity on left side,My back which I have spondylolysis and L5-S1 and L4 -L5 facet joints degeneration with a (figure-of-eight-deformity) , and T11-T12 degenerative disks changes. And Gout. All at the age of 33.
I was just seeing if anyone else has to take alot of pills, which is a pain in the @ss.

wow that really sucks... I take an allergy pill every now and then but thats it.

no meds here. just lots of ibuprofen for soccer practices and games.

ssms5411, holy sh*t dude! That's a lotta medicine. I try to let the natural body defense (white blood cells) fight most of my crimes. Even if i have headache i don't take any advil/tylenol. I also take 2 spoons of pure honey in the morning. It's got a lot of benefits and keeps me healthy. I also DO NOT drink soft drinks. I hate caffeine. I am basically natural kinda guy and that's what keeps me away from taking any medicines what so ever.

I was fine up to 32 taking 0 meds, then had the stroke at 32, where they found the hole in the heart, at 30 I had just got out of the police academy. Running 5 miles about every week , my best times in the academy were 315lbs on bench, 52 pushups in a min. , 48 situps in mintue, 1.5 miles in 12:30 min. . Not bad considering I was 6'3 285 at the time(I remember the PT instructer saying at the weigh in's congrats cadet your the fatest of the bunch. I told him" Who would you rather have you help you taking down someone to cuff someone who is 150lbs and can run the 1.5 miles in 11 min. and benches maybe 200 lbs or me " he didn't respond . I had worked for Department of Corrections for 7 years and in their academy I was running 1.5 miles in just under 11:00 min, but I weighed 200lbs back then , before hitting the weights thats when I was 22.

O.K. Here is a list of waht I take:
Atenlol 25mg twice day for blood pessure
Allopurinol 300mg. once a day for Gout
Alpraazolm 1mg twice a day still get chest pains ( used for anxiety)
Loastain 20mg a day for chlorestrol
Warfarin 2 5mg tabs and 1 1mg so 3 totaling 11mg a day for Blood thinner
Baclofen 10mg x 8 totaling 80 mg a day for spasitcity
Gabapentin 300mg x 3 total 900 mg a day for back pain
Vicoden ES 7.5mg/750mg x2 a day for pain
Omeprazole 20mg a day for Acid reflux due to a Hyated herrnia) I think I spelled that wrong.
Colchicine .6 mg for Gout flare ups.
That is it for now, my nuro guy wants me to start taking Botoex injections in my muscles on my left side for the Spasicity, but I'm still debating. I also see a Orthopedic Surgeon on Monday to see what they are going to due for my back. Wish me some good luck, I need it

I'm very sorry to hear that, Steve. Damn, and so young too.

My wife who is 34 is taking 22 or 24 pills a day too. She was born with a congenital heart defect--like you a hole in the heart, artresia tricupid. She had 4 open heart surgery (fontan procedure)when she was a baby, the last one was when she was 14. She's going to need another open heart surgery later this year or early next year.

March 4th of this year, she was extremely close of being dead. Very long story. But thanks to God, she's still with me. I know God was a part of this. Even the doctors have said that there was a divine work here. It baffled them see how she survived. Some of the doctors and nurses were in tears when they see her walking and talking like a normal person.

Anyway every week she gets her blood drawn to see how thick or thin it is. She has to be between 2 & 3. Depending on that would be the number of cummadin she has to take a day. Right now she's averaging 7-8 pills/day. Plus she has to take a number of pills to keep her blood pressure stable, lasiks to keep her body from retaining fluid, and pills to keep her heart rate down. All these pills has got me worried because she looks so yellow. I know it's doing something to her liver.

I tell you, Steve, I'm broke with all the expenses that came into my life. We're living of my credit cards. But you know what it doesn't matter as long as she is with me.

I hear you, I'm glad shes doing better. I hope she gets better, and I def. know about living off of credit cards, my Nero Surg. always tell me I'm lucky to be as functional as I am. He said hes seen a younger girl around 23 who had about the same about of brain damage and she is total disabaled, can't talk or walk. Then he said he saw a guy who was in his 40's with the same about of damage and he died from the stroke. I was just upset because the DR's. in the hospital were like " you'll make a full recovery". Over a year now since I'm left handed and that side affected by the stroke, still can't write, will always have a limp on my left side, have muscle spasms every week on my left side. Having memory problems. Can't hardly get out of bed with my back. What really teared me up is when the Nero. Surg. said about 3 months " You will never be able to do the things you once did before the stroke, so you need to move on and think about what you want to do from now on". I was always active, running lifting weights, working on my car(and others), pretty much always looking for something to keep busy. Now I have no clue, Next fall I'm going to start taking classes maybe in computers, just to keep busy, so I'll have a degree in criminal justice and computer science. All in all it just sucks, like a told the Nero Surg., "What would you do if you went through medical school and 2 years later had a stroke and you couldn't be a Dr. anymore?" He didn't answer the question he just moved the subject to something else. I pray for you and your wife Thor.

i only take non perscription pain killers... my knee is really messed up and i cant stay standing on it for more then like 10 mins without it killlling .... that sucks for u though man badly..

Ketoconazole 200mg 3x daily
Predizone 5mg 1x daily
Common injections of Phenylepherine

Prednizone is to keep my kidneys working right from the overabundance of Ketoconazole I have to take, because the Keto tears up kidneys.
