    Re: So it's not a v-6

Mostly b/c nobody else has their car painted in a Toyota color. :) We like to be a little different. There are a lot of Blue Camaro's at the track and hers is just a little bit different. Got some pic's of it put back together. Will post them when I get them off the camera.

      looks great!

I have two Camaros right now but really want to get into something older for the weekend cruising instead of driving my beater car.

Thanks. Think she trashed the engine. Gonna pull it this weekend and see what's up with that. :( Hopefully I can do it without scratching her new paint.

She came back from her 2nd time trial sunday with about 20 psi oil pressure. It normally runs 60. Wouldn't hardly crank over. Let it sit about 5 hours before we put it in the trailer and when she started it, started right away and had 60 psi. Didn't hear any knocks, but with 2 1/4 tubes to 3 1/2" collector, the thing is very loud. Gonna pull it (only takes about a hour), pull the pan and see what is up with it. It has race bearings in it and they are softer than street bearings, been in there for almost 3 years. Probably should have checked it over the winter before we took it to the body shop.

                      Re: So it's not a v-6

Well I got the engine out and mostly apart. Can't ge the balancer off, had to build a new bolt and helicoil my puller. :( Had a flat #6 exhaust lobe on the cam. I guess the K&N filter does a good job. the pressure sender is behind the filter, I imagine the filter got clogged up and that is why is reads low oil pressure. No spun bearings, most of them were scored pretty good. Got a Bullet solid roller kit on order, should be here next week. I warned my wife that it is going to scare the she-i-t out of her, :). At least nothing major is wrong with it. Didn't trash her $2500 rotating assy. Gonna finish pulling it apart this weekend and totally clean out the oil passages to get all the metal shavings out of it.

Cool, at least it was just a flat cam lobe! Any idea why? Wear or metalurgical?

Probably metalurgical. I talked with Bullet the other day and they said that they havn't heard of any problems with their flat tappet cams. I guess we got the one in a million bad one. :(

It's all fiberglass frontend. Individual pieces. They are not made exactly good.
